The Springdale Municipal Building Authority was created in May of 2005 as part of the process to construct the Canyon Community Center. The Authority is comprised of the members of the Town Council, but is a legal body that is separate and distinct from the Council. The Authority bonded for and constructed the Community Center, which is in turn leased to the Town. The lease is paid by the Town on an annual basis, which pays the principal and interest of the Authority's bond.
While it is not anticipated that the Authority will be used again in the near future, the Authority will exist as long as the lease between the Town and the Authority exists.
The Municipal Building Authority meets on an "as needed" basis.
