Joan Fischer

Winter 2007 Citizen of the Season

Joan was the first receipient of the Citizen of the Season Award.  Joan was recognized for her many countless hours raising funds for a beautiful grand piano for our Canyon Community Center.

The following was said on behalf of Joan and the new award program:

In the Town of Springdale there are many wonderful people who go out of their way to serve our community. We feel that it is time to honor some of these outstanding people.

At this time we are starting a program to do just that.

At the beginning of each season we will honor one person who has done something special to serve our community.

The Town Council has come up with a list of people who need to be thanked. But we would also like the members of our community to recommend others in community to us for this honor.

Our choice for CITIZEN OF THE SEASON - WINTER 2007 IS JOAN FISHER, who spent many countless hours raising funds for a beautiful grand piano for our Canyon Community Center.

Joan is not the only person who has given many hours of community service, but we will start with her. A plaque will be presented to her at our January 10 Town Council meeting.
